This is one of the neatest Scramblers I have ever seen and has been extremely well preserved by the dry desert climate. It was purchased new by Alice Jacobsen on May 12, 1983 in Durango, CO. This Jeep was meticulously restored and upgraded within the last few years and has been built with daily drivability in mind. The previous owner wanted a Jeep he could drive everyday, or take off road and go anywhere…but at the same time stop traffic with its drop dead gorgeous looks…..Mission Accomplished! The Jeep retains its original 258ci straight six, but has been upgraded with a TH350 Automatic Trans, custom 8in lift setup, Hand Built custom bumpers, Ramsey winch, and a Great CD Sound System. I have inspected the body and can not find a single spot of rust or repair patches whatsoever. The Jeep has lived its life in the dry Colorado and New Mexico climate and had always been well cared for before being torn down and rebuilt. The body came off the frame and the frame was fully painted when the custom lift was installed. The Jeep was given a 8in body and shackle lift to help it clear 35″ tires. The axles and transfer case are all stock equipment as far as I can tell with the expection of the locking rear end. A special adapter kit was added to mate the GM transmission to the stock TC. Every thing was freshly painted and the underside of the floors was coated in bed liner material. It looks great when all cleaned up. The Jeep also comes with a beautiful hardtop with custom sunroof. The soft top is also rare in that it is no longer produced by any companies for these scramblers. The Jeep is riding on original 15″ wheels with 35″ Mud Terrain tires. The setup is like new with very low miles and look like new. The matching spare on the custom mount on the rear adds a rugged touch as well as the convenience of a full size spare. The interior is in great shape all around. The windshield is in very nice condition and the glass is chip free. The all original vinyl bucket seats are all in very good shape and look like new. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. The dashboard is in excellent shape with no cracks. Even the original carpet is in good condition for being almost 30 years old. The sound system was upgraded with Alpine CD Player and Infinity Speakers installed in custom enclosures behind the seats. The rear seat was added to carry extra passengers, but the truck can be converted back to pickup style and would look awesome! Mechanically, this Scrambler runs GREAT! The Jeep starts right up and shifts great. The 4.2L engine has been fully tuned up with oil change and runs like a top! The newly rebuilt carburetor paired with a new fuel pump mean that this CJ starts right up every time. Every mechanical system on this Jeep was gone through and given a clean bill of health. The engine compartment was fully detailed to show condition. The jeep is tight as a drum and doesn’t leak a drop of anything. The Jeep has been meticulously documented and has had the radiator replaced, carb rebuilt, intake manifold gasket redone, tuned up, and fully serviced with only about 5,000 miles on the build. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and well put together Jeeps that I have had the privilege of being associated with.
